Bengt Lindström Galerie-Duchoze Rouen

Bengt Lindström (1925-2008) was a Swedish painter, engraver and lithographer influenced by the CoBrA movement and artists such as Asger Jorn and Karel Appel. From the 1950s onwards, he settled in France and exhibited consistently among the representatives of the “Nouvelle Figuration” movement.

He is presented by the most famous galleries. His expressionist painting, with its abundant materials and flamboyant primary colors, is strongly influenced by Scandinavian mythology, illustrating gods, masks and monsters. Alongside his large-scale oil paintings, he also produced numerous acrylic works on paper.

He created numerous frescoes on public buildings (airports, hydraulic dams, factories, etc.).

His work, figurative from the 1960s onwards, may be associated with New Figuration and Expressionism.
