Yvan Theys is a Belgian painter, engraver and sculptor whose work has been regularly exhibited since 1963. Although he was close to Reinier Lucassen, Alfons Freijmuth, Roger Raveel, Eugène Leroy and Eugène Dodeigne, his expressionist and figurative painting does not belong to any particular movement.
The insertion of abstract elements and geometric signs make Theys’s painting one of the most recognizable of all.
